Let’s Make A Comic Part 1: Thumbnailing

This is my process on how I make preliminary thumbnail art for creating my comic story, Incident at the Game Store! If you’re up to having a signed physical book for yourself, you can stop by my Etsy store and grab a copy!

I was struggling to write a new comic after Shirley’s Day. So I decided to adapt an existing story to save writing time. I got the idea to create a collection of the dumb greentext stories from 4chan, Reddit, and Imgur. Many of these dumb internet posts are outlandish, so they’re a great source of visual ideas for me.

This is the original greentext story. Since it’s anonymous, I have no idea who originally wrote it. So, if someone messaged me claiming they’re the original poster, I’d have to take their word for it.

Selling Captain Falcon Crossover Art

I’m selling my 11″x17″ ink drawing of Two Captain Falcons for $100 on Ebay.

Before I took a harder line stance on making fan art back in 2015, I made a piece of Captain Falcon and Sam Wilson as Captain America.

When I first heard that Falcon became Captain America in the comics, I thought the idea of “Captain Falcon” being in the Marvel Universe was funny to me.

Museum Visiting

As you know, I’m always working on something, whether it’s freelance art, livestreams, game development, comics and way too much! I want to literally draw everything because I’m a crazy workaholic who’s never comfortable with his output.

Since I needed a real break, I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago to see their Chicago Comics Exhibit over the weekend. It’s the first time I’ve been downtown in a year, so this was a great outing for me.

Printing Pizza Man

I’m pushing hard on getting The Pizza Man, the comic I completed for Journey June last year, ready to print! At the time of this printing and posting, I’ve sent out an order for a print proof! Once I smooth out any more printing and color kinks, the physical book will be ready to sell on my Etsy store by Mid-Fall!
