My Time at Comicopolis 2019

I went to Comicopolis 2019 last weekend and I had a real good time! It’s been a while between cons sk I’m happyto get back in that groove and tell people about my stuff!

I was surprisingly busy chatting with the attendees and my table neighbors, Mandy Madrox and Jamie Patrick about making art and stuff!

I managed to get some pictures of some cool cosplay of characters rare and well-known! I dig smaller cons since you can see some talented locals eaiser than goimg to a crowded event like C2E2.

I also knocked out some commissions! I got a behind them due to getting busy selling stuff, but I managed. Despite only being two commissions, these are the most commissions I’ve done for anyone so far and I wanted to do my best with them. If you want a commission too, you’re free to message me!

If you missed me or missed out on buying comics from me, you can still go to my Etsy Store and buy physical or digital copies of Shirley’s Day, Incident at the Game Store or my 2019 Printed Sketchbook!

The next convention I’ll be attending is Indiana Comic Con with Chris Scott at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis on August 30the to September 1st!

Ryan Francis Sketchbook 2019

My first print sketchbook is up for sale on my Etsy store for $1 plus shipping!

It’s a 12-page black and white compilation of sketch artwork by me over the 2018 and 2019 years. Print books courtesy of Ka-Blam Printing!

This book contains a sample of character sketches, ink illustrations, and commentary by the artist. It’s a good low price item to support me in my efforts to make good art!

If you want it personally signed by me, I’ll be debuting my print sketchbook at Comicopolis in the White Oak Public Library in Lockport, IL this coming Saturday, July 27!

I’ll also be selling Shirley’s Day and Incident at the Game Store as well as commissions!

My Time at Comic Con Revolution Chicago 2019

I had a decent time at Comic Con Revolution Chicago 2019! This convention was a smaller convention than I thought it would be but it was alright.

I shared a table with ScottyArtz and it was okay. We mostly just riffed on cool art, video games, and he explained hardcore Super Smash Bros. play to me.

I sold books like Incident at the Game Store and Shirley’s Day, butI sold very little art or comic books in general to overcome the costs to buying the table space and travel expenses be made.

I also managed to knock out a commission for Mochireru.

I saw some decent cosplays of characters I actually like. I’m not big into cosplay stuff, but usually I take a picture if the character peaks my intrest.

I got a cool new haul, courtesy by Brian Babendererde, EB Mead, and Andrew Taam.

County Pop Culture Con 2019

I went to the County Pop Culture Con in Greyslake, IL last weekend. It was the slowest con I’ve ever been to so far. I broke even on my table, but in general it wasn’t that great in terms of sales and the distance to travel to the venue.

Anime Central and More!

I went to Anime Central 2019 last weekend to hang out and enjoy myself for once. A friend of mine offered me one of his extra passes, so he convinced me to stop by.

It was an overall more satisfying convention to me compared to when I went last year. I bought plenty of stuff like a Jojo Plushie and a bag piece and blank white skyn to draw on from Equilibrium USG.

I touched back with a few personal friends, got some help and feedback on my comic work from someone I frequently look to for advice, attended an interesting panel about Japan’s Doujinshi scene, tried out the XP-Pen display tablets at their booth and did some digging for new conventions to attend soon and best friend tried an anime dubbing audition with Bang Zoom! Entertainment.

I’ll drop another reminder that I’ll be at County Pop Culture Con on Saturday, May 25th at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Greyslake, Illinois and Comic Con Revolution Chicago on Saturday, June 1st and Sunday 2nd at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center Rosemont, IL!
